Breaking: Johnny Depp Loses Case

Written By Mikey Sutton • Editor-in-Chief • Owner

It's over.

Johnny Depp has lost his high-profile libel case against The Sun's publishers News Group Newspapers, after the tabloid accused him of being a "wife beater" in a 2018 article. Allegations made by Depp and his ex-wife Amber Heard made for shocking online headlines. Rumors, which I debunked, began to circulate that Heard was going to be fired from Aquaman 2 as a result of them. Warner Bros. didn't want to take sides, and this proves why.

Per Variety, Judge Andrew Nicol wrote, "The claimant [Depp] has not succeeded in his action for libel. Although he has proved the necessary elements of his cause of action in libel, the defendants have shown that what they published in the meaning which I have held the words to bear was substantially true.”
