Johnny Depp Fired from 'Fantastic Beasts'; Amber Heard to Stay?

Written By Mikey Sutton • Editor-in-Chief • Owner

Johnny Depp has been fired by Warner Bros. from the Fantastic Beasts franchise.

Depp had lost his U.K. libel case on November 2 against The Sun publishers News Group Newspapers, which described him as a "wife beater" in a 2018 article. Grindelwald is going to be recast.

According to my sources, there are currently no plans to fire Amber Heard from her role as Mera in DC Films regardless of Depp's accusations against her for physical and mental abuse. He still has an upcoming $50 million case versus Heard in the U.S. for a Washington Post article she wrote about domestic violence.

As I reported before, Warner Bros. didn't want to take sides in the conflicts between Depp and Heard. But when the case ended up basically stating that The Sun was justified in their allegation that Depp was a "wife beater," they made the decision to take action.
