'Ms. Marvel' Lands 'Bad Boys for Life,' 'Punisher' Directors

Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah of Bad Boys for Life had been attached to Ms. Marvel for weeks now, but now the rumors are official will be among the directors of the Disney+ TV series. Joining them will be two-time Oscar winner Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy and Meera Menon. This won't be Menon's first shot at Marvel having directed an episode of The Punisher for Netflix.

Once in a while someone will tell me that Kevin Feige despises much of Marvel TV's output at Netflix so I found the hiring of a Punisher director somewhat amusing in that context. Of course, this doesn't signify anything in terms of a Netflix revival; Menon was obviously selected for her body of work and not just The Punisher. As the first Muslim superhero in Marvel Comics to have her own series, Ms. Marvel is a significant creation, and there's no doubt Kamala Khan will have a tremendous impact worldwide.
