It's no longer a Dream.
Per Collider, British actor Tom Sturridge has topped contenders to land the title role in Sandman, Netflix' adaptation of Neil Gaiman's classic DC/Vertigo Comics series. Sturridge will be Morpheus, the Lord of Dreams.
Gaiman's highly acclaimed and iconic series mixed and matched horror, fantasy, myth, and fairy tales with a Gothic style that proved difficult to translate to the silver screen. Alongside David S. Goyer of Batman Begins fame, Gaiman will be executive producer of the series; the first season will consist of 11 episodes and filming begins in three weeks. Allan Heinberg, who co-created Marvel's Young Avengers, will be the writer/showrunner.
Sturridge has appeared in such films as Being Julia and Mary Shelley.
