Report: Maguire, Garfield Signed for 'Spider-Man 3'?

Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield could already be caught in the MCU's web. That's according to FandomWire, which published a report last night that both have signed on for Spider-Man 3. The site revealed that "a Sony source closely involved with Spider-Man 3 has confirmed that both Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield have signed on to reprise their respective Spider-Man roles next to Tom Holland’s Peter Parker."
Since then, I've received numerous inquiries about the truth of this situation given that I originally broke the news of Maguire and Garfield being discussed to appear in a live-action Spider-Verse film back in May.
I haven't received confirmation of such a signing for the moment. If accurate, it would certainly solidify my various Spider-Verse leaks since the summer when nobody else was talking about it. (It's funny how everything changed with Jamie Foxx returning as Electro, right?) What I will say, though, is this: if it hasn't happened yet, it's inevitable. I don't see Maguire and Garfield turning this down. But I will add that Maguire and Garfield are probably not going to remain after the Spider-Verse story is told. Neither Sony nor Marvel Studios will risk confusing the general public with multiple Spider-Men swinging around regularly, especially since Miles Morales is about to leap out of the bench. This is a ride into the sunset for both, neither of him had an Endgame or Logan finale.
